M.U.Paily, Ph.D is a Teacher Educator (17yrs) employed with National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi and is currently posted at Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal as Associate Professor & Head Department of Extension Education. Before joining NCERT, he was in G.V.M’s College of Education, Goa as an Associate Professor. He has served many other institutions/organizations as visiting faculty, academic counselor, master trainer, resource person and as an educational consultant. He was a guest faculty for four years at Goa Institute of Management Studies. He is a UGC visiting fellow of Bharathidasan University. Master Trainer for the Intel Corporations’ Teach to the Future Programme and the Training of Trainers Programme of the SLSC, Govt.of Goa. He has held various administrative/academic Positions in the Committees of the Institute, University, State and national level organizations like NCERT, NCTE, and IGNOU. Currently he is a member of the Board of Studies in Education of Goa University and Bharathidasan University. Dr.paily believes in sharing his knowledge and expertise in Pedagogy, ICT in Education and Organizational Behavior and conducted about 200 training and development programmes at Academic Staff Colleges, Navodaya Leadership Institutes, Rotary clubs, Goa Management Association, Regional Institutes of Education, IGNOU and NCERT. Attended various national and international seminars and conferences and was guest speaker for some. An expert in educational technology with special interest in ICT for Constructivist Pedagogy, Dr.Paily has been deeply involved in promoting ICT integration in education through pre-service and in-service teacher education programmes not only at Regional Institute of Education but at many other institutions with which he has been associated. He is a national winner of the Intel awards for the best integration of technology in teacher education for the project on ICT integration in Teacher Education through Action research, E-learning, and E-portfolio. The project that he has planned and implemented for ICT integration in G.V.M’s College of Education at Goa won the Intel Awards in 2005 in the institutional category too. He has also received a UNESCO award for his effort in ICT integration (Training Teacher Trainees in Providing E-learning to School Students) and visited Bangkok in 2008. He was felicitated on Teachers Day, 5th September, 2007 by the Chairman, Dr Craig R. Barrett, Intel Corporation for the contribution made to the technology integration in teacher education. He is a member of the core group of experts in implementing the e-learning portal by IGNOU as part of Distance Education Programme (DEP) of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) .Expert committee member of the IGNOU’s Post Graduate Diploma in E-Learning, and a member of the consultancy group to National Institute of Open School (NIOS) for implementing MHRD/UNFPA supported Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) by developing e-lessons for Life Skill Education.
